“Magnificent Spring Bloom at the Huntington Library”
Tom Carruth is an American award-winning rose hybridizer, who has created more than 100 rose varieties, including eleven All-America Rose Selections. He is currently the E.L. and Ruth B. Shannon Curator of the Rose Collections at the Huntington Library in San Marino, California. Click here to read the article from the 2020 American Rose Annual about what he is doing to restore the roses in The Hunting Library Gardens.
After the meeting, Belenda’s Dream, a disease resistant Earth-Kind rose, will be planted in the Belmont Rose Garden in memory of Bob and Judy Fisher’s son Rob. Robert Joshua Fisher, 41, passed away in 2016. Bob Fisher has been President of Belmont University since 2000 and his wife, Judy, has played a key role in the sprawling rose gardens on the campus of the university.
The in-person meeting will be held in the Ayers Academic Center (Rooms C&D) at Belmont University. The Ayers Academic Center is the building next to the Inman Center where the Frist Lecture Hall is located (location of previous NRS meetings). The entrance to the parking garages for both buildings is the same as we used last year.
Anyone who wishes to join the meeting virtually should see Marty Reich’s email to NRS members for information on how to log into GoToMeeting. If you would like to attend as a guest, please submit your request on the Ask a Consulting Rosarian form on the website.
